The Creative Communications Ministry of Sugar Creek Baptist Church offers internship opportunities for students currently enrolled in accredited colleges and universities and pursuing a degree in one or more of the following areas: communications, marketing, graphic design, photography. Throughout the 11 week program, interns learn and work in a structured yet creative environment where practical application of skills and creativity are appreciated and utilized. Interns are challenged to develop their creativity and organizational processes as they complete creative ministry assignments as well as a series of special projects. Weekly reviews with a staff mentor and periodic peer review sessions help shape the internsʼ natural abilities and achieve personal and team goals. REQUIREMENTS: • The summer intern program runs 11 weeks from May 24 to August 6, 2010. Interns are expected to be available for the entire program. Interns may be invited to work additional weeks before and after the program if their schedules allow. • Interns will work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Additional ministry needs and special projects may increase the level of hours required to complete assignments. Due to the nature of the projects interns will work on, flexibility in work hours will be required. It is not recommended that an intern attempt to work another job while on the program. • Interns are paid a stipend of $150 per week. • Interns must be 18 years or older, must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, must show proof of medical insurance and hold a valid drivers license. • Interns are required to attend Sunday worship services at Sugar Creek Baptist Church for the length of the program. ROOM AND BOARD: • Interns requiring room and board will be housed with a host family from Sugar Creek Baptist Church. • Host families will provide one private room and one meal per day at no cost to the intern. Interns are required to provide all other meals for themselves. • Interns will respect the common areas of the home and required to keep their room and common areas clean and neat. • Interns are expected to manage their own laundry including washing linens. • Interns will comply with host family rules. • Interns will provide for their own personal care items.
