Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Leading creative team to write, develop, and design printed materials, flyers, brochures, newsletters, programs, etc. 
Developing and implementing e-mail marketing campaigns, web site updates, and special promotions
Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the Valley Christian website
Developing new marketing strategies to promote church growth and increase school enrollment in a fast developing suburban market
Prepare concepts from written or verbal creative briefs, and be able to offer suggestions as well as integrate feedback from internal clients and/or supervisors into final product
Coordinate production of marketing materials across Valley Christian ministries with external vendors
Lead day-to-day logistical support with the managing of marketing and communications activities
Analyze and report outcomes of marketing efforts to senior management team

Requirements:
Qualified applicant must have a passion for the church and a desire to be in ministry 
Willingness to experiment, learn, and grow creatively
Must be a highly organized self-starter with strong time management skills. Able to prioritize work and follow-up with projects
Ability to recognize and adapt to changing conditions including redefining his or her responsibilities as appropriate
Ability to manage priorities of numerous concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
Initiate concepts and work independently or within a team environment as needed
Excellent oral and written communication with strong computer and graphic design skills
Four-year degree and knowledge of project management, public relations and advertisement

Experience:
5+ years of prior full-time work experience
Four-year degree; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, Communications, or other design art is a plus
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, llustrator
Intermediate knowledge of Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver
Experience in HTML, CSS, basic Java Script, and Content Management Systems (CMS)
Macintosh literacy
Experience in user interface design and interaction design

Roles and Responsibilities
·	Develop and maintain an all-church communications calendar
·	Oversee the design, layout, writing, editing and production of Crossroad’s ongoing print and digital pieces:
o	Weekly - Worship Guide, Daily Guide, Family Formation Tool, e-newsletter, central graphic, connection point slides, web materials, and promotional posters &amp; flyers
o	Monthly - Crossroads newsletter, Family Ministry newsletter, First Sunday Treasure Pact Worship Guide, Healing Service Worship Guide, handouts and giveaways
o	As Needed - Postcards, Baptism certificates and slides, supplemental worship materials, newspaper ads, bulletin boards, indoor and outdoor signage, seasonal worship and promotional materials, miscellaneous printed material and projects (church letters, uploading Treasure Pact lessons to the web, special devotional booklets, slide presentations for church meetings, staff birthday posters, web redesign) 
·	Equip and lead a gift-based team including News, Graphic Design and Printing, Special Opportunities
·	Maintain relationships with local newspapers for advertising and press releases
·	Work in collaboration with the Administrative Director to coordinate the leasing of communications-related equipment
·	Maintain and order supplies for the color copier, the wide format printer, as well as specialty and general use paper
·	Responsible for telephone system voicemail updates
·	Draft annual Communications budget and review monthly reports
Requirements: The Communications Manager is a covenant position and requires a commitment to being a Crossroads Partner.  The successful candidate will be a committed Christian who aligns theologically with the beliefs and practices of the United Methodist Church as well as the vision, mission, and DNA of the Crossroads community.  A deep desire to lead others into the vision and mission of Crossroads and equip them to take ownership of the greater ministry of the church must exist in the heart of this staff member.  Staff at this level is expected to lead by example and demonstrate servant-leadership as modeled by Jesus Christ.

REQUIREMENTS: 

•	Plan, develop and implement all direct marketing as well as making constructive recommendations to the Senior Pastor and Executive Senior Pastor.
•	Develop outreach imaging plans and make recommendations to the Senior Pastor.
•	Attend weekly Executive staff meeting for service evaluation and marketing input as well as prepare, create, develop and report any marketing/media ideas during the weekly Executive staff meeting. 
•	Give overview, opinion and intentional purpose to all Cornerstone Church and departmental imaging, print and literature; Interact with department heads on the marketing for departmental events
•	As part of an overall $8 million annual budget, Develop and submit annual budget plans for Marketing/Media Department.
•	Proven ability to recruit, lead, train and motivate paid staff, departmental leaders and volunteers
•	Oversee video team with television direction, imaging and production of weekly In-Focus Television broadcast on Channel 5 and Fox 17.
•	Provide vision casting to Marketing/Media Department in relation to the vision of Cornerstone Church
Coordinate/organize prayer partners for In Focus “call-ins” on Sunday morning.
•	Coordinate/organize Media Department for weekly services.
•	Assist in developing marketing spots, ads, and internal motivators.
•	Attend calendar portion of staff meeting for clarity and direction of pastoral staff.
•	Create, develop and maintain all maintenance of the web site
•	Day-to-day administration of ministry
•	Team player with Senior Pastor, pastoral staff and key leaders
•	All other duties delegated by the Executive Senior Pastor.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
