<title>Memphis, Tennessee: Art Director at Second Presbyterian Church</title>
<description>Second is looking for an Art Director who’s passionate, creative, innovative and enjoys being part of a team. Are you good at communicating a message through great print work? Are you passionate about how a church communicates both to its community and its congregation? We’re looking for someone with 3 years experience in concepting and executing excellent print work.

Skills.
You’re proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and familiar with web design techniques. You can determine the best print strategy to meet project budget, including paper selection, selecting/working with print vendors and performing press checks. You work well with a collaborative team. You can manage many projects with overlapping deadlines. You love typography, and twitch when you see a headline that hasn’t been kerned. When something looks good, you know there is a grid in there somewhere.

Bonus points for familiarity with CSS/XHTML/PHP and social web culture.

Second Culture.
Don't let “church” bring to mind hokey, outdated clip art. Second takes design seriously, we hold great visual communication in high regard. Some of our work requires a traditional touch and some a very progressive look.

Second has been around since 1844, takes the Gospel seriously and strives to be outwardly-focused. Second is located in the heart of Memphis, and we are committed to our city—the good, the bad and the ugly.

Because we are a church, this does present the stipulation that you have to be a Christian. Because our faith is integrated throughout our work, a life deeply grounded in the Gospel is important in effectively communicating our ministries.

<title>Dallas, TX: Web Developer at RT Media Group</title>
<description>RT Media Group is a family of companies (IgniterMedia.com, WorshipHouseMedia.com, CollideMagazine.com, and EchoConference.com) that exist to help churches communicate effectively through media and technology. We’re looking for a new web developer, and we want that person to be a walking contradiction.

You’re our ideal candidate if you ....

Love working as a web developer, but you’re not a workaholic; Read several web design and development blogs, but the reference books on your shelf are dusty; Can develop and maintain complex backend databases, but can also create amazing and simple user experiences
Insist on doing things the easy way, but only when that’s the right way; Learned a lot in college (if you even went to college), but you’ve learned a thousand times more since then; Understand the value of working as part of a team, but are comfortable taking a project from the first wireframe to the go-live date; Understands several platforms such as PHP, .NET, Java, Ruby on Rails, and ColdFusion, but doesn’t let that get in the way of communicating with those who don’t; Are often successful, but never satisfied; Have 3+ years of experience with web application architecture and design, but you don’t rely on the way you’ve always done it.

If you’re our ideal candidate, send your portfolio to jobs@worshiphousemedia.com. We promise to take care of you with things like a salary, paid vacation, insurance, and one of those 401k deals everyone is talking about these days.

<title>Aurora, IL: Communications Intern at Ginger Creek Community Church</title>
<description>Ginger Creek Community Church is an innovative, growing church in the western suburbs of Chicago. We’re seeing God do some amazing things in the life of our community through the work of our church.

We’re looking for a fun, resourceful, energetic intern to help keep our communication effective, concise, simple, and creative. This might be the job for you if you: like a fast-paced environment, enjoy being creative, have a good work-ethic, know technology (web), are a problem-solver and are an innovative thinker.

This position works with the Creative Director as a consumer advocate for both internal and external communications for the church. This person will work to protect our audience (churched and unchurched) from bad experiences in print and media touch points. Know how to identify barriers to entry and remove them. You must be willing to work on behalf of the audience to uncover their needs and make it easy to find new steps to meet them.

Qualified applicants will possess or be working on completion of a Bachelor’s degree. Competitive part-time salary, plus endless learning opportunities available. Contact Zach Montroy with your résumé or for more information about the position.

<title>maple valley, wa: pastor of worship and creative arts at common ground church</title>
<description>Common Ground Church is a 3 and ½ year old church planted by two ministry families and a handful of un-churched neighbors. At CGC both the over-churched and under-churched are “finding God – not religion” in one of the least churched areas of the United States. Located in a bedroom community southeast of Seattle. . . Maple Valley, WA is nestled in a county where less than 5% are evangelical Christians.

In the spring of 2007 our attendance averaged between 250-300 people. Common Ground Church has watched God draw unbelievers toward Himself with a simple mission of “helping people find Jesus’ love and truth. . . together.”

Currently, Common Ground is searching for a full-time worship pastor that loves sinners, likes to hang out with unbelievers and isn’t “holier than thou.” We are looking for someone that has a heart for worshipping God combined with artistic musicianship, killer vocals, and modern tastes. Common Ground loves variety and seeks a more eclectic worship experience rather than enshrining one style alone. One Sunday we may rock it out while another Sunday we may go more acoustic or Celtic. Since God looks at the heart and not outward appearances, how you look isn’t our big concern. Whether you are well-groomed, a bed head, metro, tattooed, good looking or just plain average, you are more than welcome to apply.

Common Ground Church values using creative and culturally relevant means to help people encounter Jesus. Our worship leader will strive to connect unbelievers to God by being sensitive to their perceived objections while asking them to observe and participate in worship services that are designed to challenge the curious and committed followers to mature into a more authentic embodiment of Jesus’ love and truth.

We desire a worship minister who personally believes and participates in our mission to reach unbelievers. Candidates should believe in team ministry and have a heart for developing worship bands and creative ministry teams.

We welcome candidates with a college degree and those with degrees in the school of life.

<title>Tucson, AZ: Pastor of Worship &amp; Arts at Beginnings Church</title>
<description>I became the lead pastor of a missional church in Tucson, AZ with the average age of 29 just 4 months ago. In that time, we have tripled in size and we have seen almost 20 people accept Christ during that time. We are looking for a Creative worship leader who can take us to the next level. If you are into songs by United, Desperation, Crowder, Leeland, Something like Silas, Delirious and if you like the music of U2, Anberlin, Angels &amp; Airwaves, Brand New, Dave Matthews and pretty much any other band that rocks, addicted to Starbucks, want to live on the edge of ideas for a church, you might be a fit. Currently, this is a part-time position, but that will change in the future.

You can check out our website or check out our lead pastor's blog @ ww.emergingthoughtstoday.blogspot.com.</description>

<title>South Africa: Communications Champion at All Saints United Church</title>
  <description>Hi There

My name is Hilton Tredgold. I am a member of the All Saints United Church, based in Pietermaritzburg, in the province of KwaZulu Natal, in South Africa.

I have assumed the portfolio of Communications Champion as part of our Church effort to implement strategic goals towards the implementation of achieving our PURPOSE - &quot;Caring for you Gods Way&quot;.
First on my list is the establishment of a new church logo / brand.

Creative Brief:
All Saints United Church is multi congregational church with a current memberhip that spans the entire age spectrum. The primary market for growth has been identified as young families - 25 to 45 age group. The style of worship is mixed although wanting to appeal to the more contemporary. (We don't want to chase the 'oldies' away!)

The building architecture is non traditional - ie Bricks and mortar - in fact could possibly be mistaken for an office block (almost) ie not traditional cathedral !

Some brand descriptives would include:
modern, contemporary, welcoming, warm, caring, family. Representing a place that families can trust to add value to their lives. The tagline could be &quot;Caring for you - God's Way&quot;

Fonts and colours I will leave up to the pro's but nothing too bright and vibrand - perhaps pastells ?

We have a host of other projects in the pipeline including:
Website, Target Marketing Leaflets, Campaign Leafets, New Member welcome kit, Posters - encouraging congregation to join one of the Champion Teams etc.

Please let me know if anyone is prepared to give the logo a go !

Kind Regards

Hilton Tredgold
