LifeChurch.tv is one of the largest, fastest growing and most innovative churches in the country and we are currently looking for a full-time Systems Engineer to grow with us. We are one church in multiple locations, with campuses all over the United States and the Internet. LifeChurch.tv is also responsible for many web properties including YouVersion.com, ChurchMetrics.com, BabelWith.me and many others that fulfill our missional use of technology. Working on the LifeChurch.tv team, you will wear many hats for our many production sites: first responder, performance analyst, service architect, system/database administrator, capacity planner, tools developer, monitoring expert, and technical evangelist. You must be: • An expert in Linux/Unix system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation • Fluent in at least one scripting/coding language like PHP, Java or C/C++ and how this code relates to overall systems performance • Heavy experience with web servers and load balancers (Nginx and Apache) • Very strong with SQL, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL with special attention in the areas of scaling and redundancy • An expert with running high-traffic web services, including requirements and capacity analysis, service configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting, and change management. • Statistical and data analysis experience • Experienced in hands-on TCP/IP network management and monitoring • An excellent communicator (especially written) with serious time management skills • Always keeping up-to-date on current technology trends • Willing to commit to the core values of LifeChurch.tv In this role you will be: • Working in tandem with the LifeChurch.tv IT Team and the Digerati Team. • Responsible for all web property system admin duties included but not limited to data center management, LAMP stack administration, scaling and redundancy management, as well as system monitoring and reporting • Managing our current local and wide area networks - focusing on Cisco-based gear (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) - looking ahead to how we can improve connectivity & security leading data-related projects, including but not limited to data normalization, data maintenance, data research, data standardization, data product development, and data quality assurance • Manage schedules and duties in order to efficiently meet the needs of the overall organization in pursuit of its mission to reach the world for Christ • Evaluate new technologies and assist with the planning and design of system architecture, to allow rapid scaling to meet demand Would be great if: • You have previous experience scaling large web applications • You hold industry certifications (Cisco / Microsoft / Apple / etc.) • You have BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent No phone calls please.
