Outcomes and Results

•Redesign of existing Website in a user friendly information architecture
•Help shape vision of e-media communication practices
•Maintain e-media graphic and communication consistency
•Assist in selection and operation of any content management system and web hosting
•Integrate Web 2.0 and social networking strategies

Responsibilities and Activities

•Able to grasp and apply user-focused interface design/architecture with a high degree of craftsmanship during development.
•Able to give and take creative design direction and follow color, style, size, and placement guidelines specified during the initial design stage.
•Develop a style guide for each project to ensure consistency.
•Create Flash-based multimedia elements that don't require heavy coding.
•Ability to manipulate all multimedia assets types (text, graphics, motion, audio, video, animation) and understands compression and optimization techniques.
•May be required to articulate and present work or ideas to internal team members or clients.
•Keep supervisor apprised of work status by communicating progress, availability, and issues.
•Keep abreast of current interactive technologies, development trends, strategies, products, and best practices to ensure that projects use the most up-to-date and appropriate tools and methodologies.
•Develop promotional electronic advertising
•Update and maintain website to keep current and relevant.
•Skilled in tracking logistics and impact of digital/electronic communications for future strategic planning
•Experience in Search Engine Optimization
•Build, train and sustain volunteer web team

Working Climate

•Position reports to communications director and works closely with the graphic artist, production coordinator and web representatives from 24+ ministries.
•Capable of working within a management culture that is goal oriented with accountability.
•Deadline driven environment.
•Full-time exempt position. Staff at Hill Country are expected to be incarnational leaders. Their work week is similar to mature members who typically work a full time position and then give added hours to ministry activities in addition to a standard work week. The normal schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and shepherding assistance and oversight outside office hours, including Sunday morning.

Qualifications
•Experienced in Web 2.0 design and have a strong portfolio of past design work portfolio that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of multimedia design, layout, and development.
•Proficient in both interaction and visual design Capable of development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET.
•Experienced with Flash (99.1% usage rate), Windows Media (83.4%) and QuickTime (67.7) video formats.
•Requires someone who is intuitive; with strong communication, organization and time management skills; can troubleshoot and provide value-added ideas/solutions; is detail-oriented; has a passion for continuous improvement; works well in a team; is self-motivated and maintains a positive attitude.
•Able to focus on user needs and deliver optimum user experience
•Membership at Hill Country Bible Church Northwest will be required for the position.
