Common Ground Church is a 3 and ½ year old church planted by two ministry families and a handful of un-churched neighbors. At CGC both the over-churched and under-churched are “finding God – not religion†in one of the least churched areas of the United States. Located in a bedroom community southeast of Seattle. . . Maple Valley, WA is nestled in a county where less than 5% are evangelical Christians.
In the spring of 2007 our attendance averaged between 250-300 people. Common Ground Church has watched God draw unbelievers toward Himself with a simple mission of “helping people find Jesus’ love and truth. . . together.â€
Currently, Common Ground is searching for a full-time worship pastor that loves sinners, likes to hang out with unbelievers and isn’t “holier than thou.†We are looking for someone that has a heart for worshipping God combined with artistic musicianship, killer vocals, and modern tastes. Common Ground loves variety and seeks a more eclectic worship experience rather than enshrining one style alone. One Sunday we may rock it out while another Sunday we may go more acoustic or Celtic. Since God looks at the heart and not outward appearances, how you look isn’t our big concern. Whether you are well-groomed, a bed head, metro, tattooed, good looking or just plain average, you are more than welcome to apply.
Common Ground Church values using creative and culturally relevant means to help people encounter Jesus. Our worship leader will strive to connect unbelievers to God by being sensitive to their perceived objections while asking them to observe and participate in worship services that are designed to challenge the curious and committed followers to mature into a more authentic embodiment of Jesus’ love and truth.
We desire a worship minister who personally believes and participates in our mission to reach unbelievers. Candidates should believe in team ministry and have a heart for developing worship bands and creative ministry teams.
We welcome candidates with a college degree and those with degrees in the school of life.
