The Communications Director oversees the development and implementation of communications functions and processes of the church to create an environment in which messages are communicated clearly, creatively and effectively. This includes internal and external communications, with attention also given to development of communication pieces for members through which they can invite others. This individual trains and works alongside staff and volunteers to create and/or refine communication messages.
As this is a new position, responsibilities include working with church leadership to define church identity and key audiences, creating communication objectives, establishing processes, a communication calendar and identifying priorities. This is an exciting opportuntiy to facilitate God's work through a 1600 member suburban church located northeast of Indianapolis.
Background Desired; Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field; three years experience in communications with strong written and oral communication skills; proven creative and design skills, including web design/development. We are seeking a person with strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to teach, motivate and lead others toward a common goal. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work on multiple projects at one time and who has a great amount of patience and flexibility.
