Web and Graphics Technician
40 hours per week
ROLE
To create effective visual design for Web and Print communications, and to help maintain a visual standard of excellence that support church-wide communications messages. Take initiative to advance the website and learn about new communication technologies.
Desire: A passion for championing the message of the Gospel through powerful and effective visual images that communicate Christ The Rock�s heart, vision and purpose.
Experiences:
� Bachelor�s degree or equivalent expertise in Web development, maintenance and print graphics design.
� Expertise on the Mac OS 10 platform and software including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript.
� Knowledge of grammar and style standards.
Individual Style: Multi-tasker, good decision-making skills, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently and meeting projects deadlines.
Natural Abilities: Excellent web design and development skills; Understanding of how to combine color, composition, photography, illustration and other elements of print design and the ability to see things in new ways.
Availability: 40 hours per week.
SUPERVISOR: Communications Associate Director
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates the visual arts for online and print communications to Christ The Rock�s church-wide/community/global audiences.
Oversees updating the CTR Website. Acts as the contact and helps to troubleshoot technical issues. Writes some content and helps train volunteers and staff who update content. Brings vision for the continual improvement of the website.
Serves as print design consultant to staff, and collaborates with all affected parties on draft to be approved by Communications Associate Director.
Keeps up on current design trends to produce fresh, effective visual designs that support the written message while maintaining our values and �one voice.�
