Description:

Calvary Bible Church, a multi-campus church in Boulder and Erie Colorado, is seeking a Communication Specialist. With a congregation of 1,250 people, Calvary's mission is to build a Christ-centered community of people, fully devoted to loving God and loving others. Our Communication Department exists to support this mission by creating consistent and simple communication pieces which put first the needs of our diverse audience.

The Communication Specialist reports directly to our Director of Communication and works as the primary graphic designer, editor and copy-writer for Calvary’s internal and external communication pieces, including the weekly bulletin, message series graphics, marketing and ad design, and calvarybible.com. This position also serves as the chief designer and editor of ROOTS, Calvary's quarterly magazine, by leading a team of volunteer writers and photographers. The Communication Specialist also assists our staff and volunteer ministry leaders through creative advisement and the creation of publications. Simple design and strong communication will be valued more than flashy design and fluffy communication. The ability to contribute fresh and creative ideas to a team while balancing the need to maintain an existing brand identity will be a challenge our Communication Specialist enjoys.

Professional Skills:
Skilled in graphic design, page layout, writing and editing; demonstrated by a strong portfolio
Works well under pressure and constantly meets tight deadlines
Experience using design software (Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with web design is desirable, but not required

Work Hours:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Salary commensurate with experience. Full benefits package provided including paid vacation, holidays, personal days, 403(b) retirement plan, health, dental and vision.
